Eno Names Bhat to List of Top 10 Transportation Thought Leaders
The Eno Center for Transportation, a non-profit think tank that works in federal transportation policy and transportation leadership development, recently partnered with the Council of University Transportation Centers to identify 10 of the most forward-looking transportation academics working in the field today, creating the “Top 10 Transportation Thought Leaders in Academia” list. Established in part to honor the late Professor Aaron Gellman, who served on Eno’s Board of Advisors and also as a part of Eno’s NextGen Working Group, this list cites individuals who have given years of extraordinary support and service to Eno. Noted the Eno Center, “These talented academics carry on much of the visionary work that was so important to Professor Gellman.” The featured academics work in multi-modal disciplines and are grooming the next transportation workforce; this esteemed group leverages their resources and expertise to help solve real-world transportation challenges through ongoing research and thought-leadership. Therefore, it’s no surprise that Dr. Chandra Bhat was included on this list of 10, given his extensive involvement in developing the next generation of transportation modelers and analysts. In addition to serving as director both CTR and D-STOP, Dr. Bhat teaches courses in transportation systems analysis and transportation planning and is a leading expert in travel demand modeling and travel behavior analysis.
