April Research Alert
Dear Researchers, Staff and Students,
This month we focus on North American Transborder Freight Data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics.
The North American Transborder Freight Database, available since April 1993, contains freight flow data by commodity type and by mode of transportation (rail, truck, pipeline, air, vessel, and other) for U.S. exports to and imports from Canada and Mexico.
Users gained the ability to generate thematic maps after Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping capability was added to the following TransBorder interface. Access the data by visiting the BTS Transborder Freight Data site.
The 2011 CTR Symposium focused on trade issues this year, including the following presentations:
Expansion of the Panama Canal and Impacts on U.S. Trade: Rodolfo Sabonge, Click here to open the PDF (2.2 MB).
Texas Rail Plan: Fewer Trucks on Texas Highways?: Jolanda Prozzi, Click here to open the PDF (253 KB).
